I chose a vet in Pedreña bacause I like things related to medicine
and animals, so the best option was to be a vet. When I said that to my mum, she called the veterinary hospital in Guarnizo and they told me that I had to go to Pedreña. In the interview, they told me my timetable and the things that I would / could do.
On the first day, I was very nervous but the nurse was very friendly and she showed me around the clinic. Later, the vet came and she was also friendly. She taught me what I had to do during a surgery because the first day we had a castration. Most people who came was to put vaccines to their pets. She let me participate in everything. I was excited because I could do a lot of things.
The last two days she brought me to Guarnizo, where I could see a parrot and a canary. I could also see a CT scan, x-ray and a more difficult surgery. There were also dogs that were very sick, and one of them had to be put down because he had heart attacks. The worst part was that I met the owners. That was one of the saddest experiences I had there, but for the rest it was very good.
In conclusion, this helped me to decide that I am going to study veterinary. I wouldn’t like to work with pets or domestic animals. I would like to work with wild animals or sea animals.
